Braeside Cottage

This quintessential schist stone cottage was built in the late 1800’s by Charles Knudson from Norway. Charles jumped ship in Port Chalmers Dunedin, made his way inland to the Strath Taieri where he built Braeside. Charles and his wife Agnes produced and raised 14 children in this cottage before leaving in 1914 because of drought.

Beautifully restored, this idyllic cottage offers unbelievable tranquility and the peace and quiet that can only come from sleeping in a stone walled cottage.

Braeside offers two large and beautifully appointed bedrooms, one with a comfy queen bed and the other with 2 king singles both with trundle beds providing beds for up to 5 people.
